Erin Kate Spellman

Hi! Thanks for stopping by. I'm a User Experience and User Interface designer who loves solving problems in order to help people find joy in technology (and beyond). My innately curious and imaginative nature fuels my quest to get to the root of problems and uncover what makes people really tick so that I can remove obstacles and create user-centric experiences that both fulfill and delight.

I really find my “zen” when working on in-depth user research and brainstorming solutions. My colorful background in digital marketing makes this feel second nature. Collaboration within a community of other passionate creators is a beautiful thing.

I’ve been pretty busy working in a fast-paced environment for a tech agency here in Denver, Colorado. I’ve had my hands on a colorful spread of products, from Budget Fleet Trucking designs to healthcare apps.

Before diving into user experience design, I did the digital-nomad thing traveling the world and running my own digital marketing agency.

Throughout this time, I also worked as a Pilates and Yoga teacher, which presented to me many unique opportunities to embrace UX design in the real world.

While at Creighton University, I thought I’d become a psychologist or a historian, as I’ve always been drawn to the study of how humans think, work, live and love throughout time. Growing up, I owned horses and loved to just sit in the pasture and study their behavior. This is where I think design first found its way into my life, in the open minded exploration of creatures- and learning from them rather than falling into the trap of “knowing it all”.

I'm always trying to grow and learn something new. I lose track of time when I'm mapping out family trees on Ancestry.com, photographing my animal friends, trail running, horseback riding or anytime I am alone in nature. Holistically understanding and deeply valuing others journeys, both on and offline, enables me to design intentional and delightful solutions across a diverse array of projects.

Currently, I’m looking for contract work or a full-time position in the United States. I have an autonomous and nomadic nature so remote work is my favorite. Let’s chat!
